INTRODUCING SELECT THERAPY

ABOUT US

How can we help?

Select Therapy is a bespoke service offering assessment and therapy pathways for children aged 4-11 years. Support can be both in person or virtual depending on what works best for the child and their family. Please see below for further details on assessment and therapy options.

Do we cover your area?

The Service typically covers the Berkshire area but sometimes extends support to other counties. Please do get in touch to discuss your individual circumstances. Thank you.

Where do I go next?

ASSESSMENT

A speech and language assessment can support you to understand your child's needs and access support. The assessment will involve a discussion to explore your concerns and provide an opportunity to gather any relevant information. I will then complete some activities with your child. Depending on your child, this may involve informal activities or formal assessment (the latter allows the therapist to track your child's skills against what is expected for their age using standardized data). At the end of the assessment, you will receive a report to explain what the assessment showed and what this means. You will have time to talk through next steps.

THERAPY

Depending on the discussion after the assessment, your child may then access a therapy pathway. This will include direct sessions with myself where I will model approaches so you can develop these skills in-between sessions. The support pathway will be individualized to support your child's needs, developing functional skills to support their communication.

OUTCOMES

To ensure that the therapy is effective, therapy will be monitored continually and reviewed. Targets may be stepped up or stepped down, depending on the progress made.

If your child makes enough progress and does not require direct therapist involvement, the pathway will then end for your child. You will be provided with strategies to continue to support speech, language and communication.
